How do I show hidden files (such as MSDOS.SYS)?

Intended For
Windows XP
Windows 2000
Windows Me
Windows 98
Windows 95
  • Open My Computer, and select Options from the View menu (or the Tools menu in Windows Me/2000/XP).
  • Click on the View tab, choose Show all files, and press OK.

Note: there is currently no way to choose which files to hide - the mentality behind hiding DLL files escapes me, though.
