Computers by nature get slow after awhile, you need to run defragmenter once in awhile & make sure to check in add-remove programs to eliminate & uninstall the shareware that tends to creep in.

Go into your control panel & add-remove programs & remove all the programs that you don't use any more, also remove any programs that have anything to do with search helpers or toolbars.

Most toolbars are not that useful where you need to leave them in your computer, they WILL slow your pc down & steal resources from your system, not to mention the fact that they spy on your activities only to make it easier to send you sale adds & other spy ware.
