  1. Open the Services-snapin by pressing the Start-button and Run... this command:

    Services.msc



     

  2. Double click the service you want to change (Here Messenger)
  3. Visit this page for Detailed Info. listing each service: (Detailed Info)



     
  4. In the Startup Type-dropdown select the desired state

     
  5. If setting the service to Disabled or Manual, then press the Stop-button to deactivate the service.

     
  6. If setting the service to Automatic, then press the Start-button to activate the service.

     
  7. Press the Ok-button
